So I've recently become an Esty addict. I spend hours searching their artist websites and loving the projects and craftmanship on this website. I think of all the new projects I want to do and don't have the time for.

Anyway, in the search for my perfect camera bag I came across this artist Judy from Arkansas. She lives in the Ozark Mountains and makes these wonderful bags. I ordered the one above and unfortunately Judy has cancer and she was in the hospital for quite a time. When she was released she shipped me my wonderful bag. I was so excited upon opening it. The bag was wonderful and much better than my expectations of it. The fabric is beautiful and the detail of it is so nice. She is truety a great seamstress. The bag fits all my gear wonderfully and it is nice to carry around and use. It does not look like a normal Camera bag which I like.
Thank you Judy and I pray you stay well and make many many more bags.!!

Photo Bag

I recently purchased a Nikon D7000 and I am on the search for the perfect bag. So what is the perfect bag. I guess I need a few.
1- to take hiking and traveling- backpack or sling style
2- to take out to dinner or out with the girls- purse or handbag style.

So already I have ordered and returned a bunch of bags. I am a buyer/ returner

Started with the Crumpler 5 million dollar bag- I like this one and I'm going to keep it. It fits my gear (I have so far) nicely but it is not very good for hiking, nor travel. If I were only carrying my camera this would be a great bag. My problem with it is I can not fit the cell phone, wallet, keys or any other small items in this bag.

I have also purchased and tried the Lowepro Passport Sling. This one I returned and did not like. I loved the concept of it, but it did not fit well, looked bulky. It only fit my camera and no other accessories. It was great though for fitting the cell phone and wallet. What I would have like to see different. Some pockets on the inside and the outside pockets have some sort of velcro or snap closure.

Next tried the Caselogic DCB-308. This is a nice bag. What I like most about this is the camera is easily accessible and it has attachment for the tripod but it is bulky looking and once I fit in the battery charger, extra battery, and other items in the front pocket it bulges even more. I do like the top storage but that is where I would put the wallet, cell phone, keys, extras.

Caselogic SLRC-205 this bag was just to small. It would be great if I were hiking and just took my camera and tripod. I could have kept it for that purpose, but I returned it. Too late now.

So back to a nicer out to dinner bag. I was at a friends shower the other day and I needed something a little more dressy than my crumpler bag. I have searched high and low and I am now at the point where I am going to try to make something that fits in a bag I already have. Etsey has given me some good ideas and I'm going to try an insert.

Still looking.......
